we hope that your summer has been as good as ours.. pedal palooza.. lots of family riding for us.. grand son, daughters, mom, brothers and family, friends and trips to the coast.. tour de fat.. ice cream at DQ..
bike me vancouver.. summer concerts at eshter short park and the wandering wenches(check out their link).. so for now a few photos of ridin.. my mom at a young 80, daughter, grandson and moms friend cruzin to a concert..
so lets get together for some late summer early fall cruzin..

hi everyone.. sorry we have been off line for a while.. for us a few family activities going on.. vacations.. holidays etc..
there is a gathering down town Vancouver this weekend.. car show and music.. so if you have time go take a look.. enjoy..
Ester Short park free concerts on Thursday nights.. Free movies on Friday night.. ride your bike and go.. have fun.. support our local business community..
and.. Friday nights has been added to the Farmers market..
so as soon as we get past some of this vacation time, we get post some rides..

good evening cruzers.. i hope you had a great weekend..
now that pedalpalooza is behind us for 2009, i'm looking forward to 2010 for more cruzer fun and larger turn-outs..
had my grandson out this weekend for his first real ride.. 8 miles he put in, through downtown and then along the waterfront.. and with no crashes.. (a little bribe at DQ did help).. and he said he wasn't even tired.. kids..
no scheduled rides for this weekend being that it is the fourth.. so get out and cruze and enjoy the holiday..

great weather to out and about.. Daniel came out to ride on his new to him Big Mo.. nice ride.. a little larger version of the schwinn occ chopper.. we did a short ride through the fort and down to water front.. from there on to McMenamins for a little food and brew and a leisure cruz back to the monkey.. thanks to Dan and Mo for riding with us.. come back again..
we have several rides coming up during pedalpalooza.. a poster for these rides should hit the streets soon with date and times.. dont forget art walk first friday this friday from 5 to 9p.. main street.. see ya there..
we are taking this weekend off to rest up for palooza..

Vancouver First Friday Art Walk..

calling all cruzers.. next friday June 5 from 5p to 9p is first friday art walk.. being part of Bike Me! Vancouver i need your help.. for those of you who have a fat tire bike and want to have some fun cruzin main st., show up at Angst Gallery, 1015 main st. (5ish) to help hand out Bike Me! Vancouver flyer's and any other art walk info.. for those of you who need a ride, just get in touch with me and i will set you up with one of my cruzers to ride.. would like to have them all out of the garage and on the street.. (this is a community event and we need to wear our helmets) ;-( .. we cant always be outlaws.. if you dont know, Bike Me! was established "to increase participation and awareness of bicycling within the community".. all bicycles.. all bicyclist.. and yes, we will have a few pit stops..
so wear your fun clothes.. bright colors.. and lets have some fun.. please have lights and bells and any other fun things you might want to add to the cruzers..

Friday Night Happy Hour Cruze.. Sunday Ride..

good morning all..
can you believe this great weather?? if you are not out in it you should be.. so a few of us from Bike Me! Vancouver got together last night for a happy hour ride.. we cruzed the Vancouver water front and then across the land bridge to Fort Vancouver and on to Woody's tacos..
if you have not been to Woody's and you do like Mexican food, check this place out.. more than tacos.. after that a little trip up the street to Shanahans where we found a new bike parking rack.. very nice.. a secure place to lock up the trusty bikes..
then a ride through the hood and a stop at Safeway for pizza supplies and back home for a little outdoor fire, brews and home built pizza.. thank you to my wonderful Stephanie for providing a wonderful midnight snack..
Sunday ride.. we will cruze by the monkey at 3 to meet up with anyone who would like to ride with us.. keeping this ride very informal and loose.. decide where to go once we get to the monkey..

hay.. we had a great ride in portland.. Mike, Christy, Stephanie, Morgan and me..
lots of peeps out enjoying the great northwest weather.. the springcreek trail was really bizeee.. nice to see.. and we only have one minor mis-adventure.. Christy had a little contact with the pavement.. one of those fast roadies cut her off and clipped her front tire.. as of this morning she is ok and her bike bell suffered the only bike damage..
another fam ride today.. getting the kids in the trailer for a slow ride to the farmers market in downtown.. should be another great day to sight see.. you know.. people watchin'..

just a note.. when riding these bike trails, curzers stay right and let the lycra, spandex wearin' speed freaks, have their left.. slow it down..geez..

goodmorning all..
we are having great memorial day weekend weather.. no rides on tap for this weekend from the "monkey".. we are doing a couple of family rides.. if you would like to join in on those please do.. today we are going into portland and riding from OHSU lower tram parking about noon.. riding north from there to and through rose fest and sat market to the steel bridge and then south to spring water trail to sellwood bridge then back north.. about a 20 miler.. and a few "beverage" stops thrown in for fun..
tomorrow we leave from our house about 1ish.. headin for the fort and esther short.. this is a kids ride.. not that we aren't kids.. just doing this one with some youngsters..
and we will ride on monday just have not planed anything as of this hour.. so.. for now have a great weekend.. soak up some vit. D..

sorry we have been off line.. but we had a great day in Seattle.. just no riding.. but we did have a great ride on sunday.. just took some friends out.. 10 of us.. 3 for their first time since way younger.. LOL.. so welcome Rick, Steve and Debbie.. i guess the 3 stops we made didn't hurt.. and thanks to the 2 nice ladies for the photo taking at Tommyo's.. come join us.. we ride slow and drink fast.. hmmmm..

not sure about a ride this weekend even though it is a 3-dayer.. so..

yep.. we did get rain.. but, not much.. during the worst of it we were under the awning at BM.. Albert was there also but he headed for home.. same as Nickel and fam.. next time.. new to the group Mike, joined us and we headed to the river for a little river front cruzin'.. we did make a couple of small detours, but hay, it's cruzin'.. all in all it was pretty nice.. not really so-cal warm weather cruzin' but just the same we were on our bikes and playin'..
and Mike, do bring your wife next time.. try me at Ccooper4919@aol and we will get her on a bike..

The Oregon Coast..

so we did a little exploring this weekend of the oregon coast.. ended up riding at Manzanita Or. on Suday .. there is a great state park there.. really nice camp grounds.. sorry no photos of the camp spots, but, nice.. trees, green grass, shade, airport, boat launch, yurts and short trip to town and a great litte pub we wandered into.. the San Dunes Pub.. good pub food and a selection of North West beers.. live music on the weekends.. and best of all a back patio to enjoy the beers while enjoying the sun.. Manzanita is about 20 miles south of Seaside.. and a little over 2 hours from VanPort.. could be a fun place to go for a weekend ride..

we are at the coast.. rain.. no ride today.. but.. my woman.. the love of my life has just passed the most important test of her life to date.. she is now an LPO.. which means.. job security.. no.. yes.. but.. important never the less.. a very good thing.. i am so proud of her.. so now of to bed.. good afternoon fellow fat tire riders..
so lets get this thing going.. time to ride.. enjoy the "Great North-Wet".. and hopefully a little sun thrown in there for fun..
so what i was thinkin'.. during the summer months leave the "Monkey" at 7pm wednesdays.. (monkey closes at 7.. so if you need a fix get er done before they close).. then head for a waterin' "hole" (hole that gets most votes wins) and decide what is next.. now we dont have to take the short route to the "hole".. no, we can take the high road, long road most fun road.. how's that sound?? let me know.. im not the boss of this.. just puttin' out ideas..
after or during wed. ride, choose what ride to do on sunday.. who's house for a bbq.. whatever.. then i will post it here.. no phone calls.. keep it easy..
so get your bikes waxed..
